Microscopes are common tools in science and education, providing a visual bridge between the world we see with our eyes, and microscopic worlds we cannot otherwise detect. The basics of microscopy have been around for centuries– join members of CLEAR laboratory to learn the basics and build your own microscope! We will provide instruction and materials to create a microscope using a cell phone as a viewing platform. You can use our design, or take what we’ve shown you to create your own version. While we’ll provide basic materials and tools; if you want to create something particularly adventurous, specific, or fabulous, feel free to bring extra materials to incorporate. This workshop requires a smart phone. Everyone is welcome but please register using the link above.
